Crystal Pure Systems

WATER FED POLE SYSTEMS

Hard and Soft Water areas in the UK

The water that comes out of your tap is not totally pure. Water is a good solvent and it can absorb minerals quite easily. When water absorbs magnesium and calcium, especially in areas where limestone is present, it is said to be 'hard'. There are differing degrees of 'hardness' and your local water supplier will be able to tell you exactly how hard or soft your water supply is.

A quick way to tell if you have hard water is to look at the element in a kettle. If there is lime scale deposits on the element, you more than likely have a hard water supply.

When it comes down to pure water production for water fed window cleaning, soft water areas have the choice of a reverse osmosis or a de-ionisation based system.

where as hard and medium-hard water areas can use the de-ionisation technique to produce pure water, but they will find that a reverse osmosis based system is by far the easiest and most cost effective solution for them to use.
